MDOT I-69 & I-94 Interchange

Port Huron, MI

The I-69 & I-94 Interchange is a major freeway interchange carrying the flow of traffic into and out of Canada via the Blue Water Bridge and I-94, and also in and out of Port Huron utilizing I-69.

MDOT stipulated an aggressive, multi-year CPM construction schedule which required winter work and excluded any schedule time extensions for inclement weather.

The project included the complete reconstruction of seven separate bridge structures and two retaining walls, along with the replacement of over 200,000 SYDS of concrete pavement.  Iafrate recycled the old concrete pavement; crushing it for use as the new aggregate base.

Iafrate constructed the I-69 & I-94 Interchange project in conjunction with two other MDOT contracts in the same area.  Close coordination and scheduling was required to complete all three projects in a timely manner.
